# Screensaver World ## What is Screensaver DAO? Our Decentralized Autonomous Organization (DAO) was created with a simple premise in mind: because it needs to exist. The rush to crypto through NFTs has created what looks to be another renaissance of creativity likened to dotcom in the late 90s. However, with the rise of silicon valley, social media, and every other .IO in the world, we felt the need to create a community of individuals who remember and/or want the excitement around the internet that existed in the late 90s. To achieve this, we decided to build a marketplace. [Screensaver.world](https://www.screensaver.world/) is the first NFT Marketplace DAO built on Polygon Layer 2. Using Polygon means extremely low minting and bidding fees ( \~ $0.0002). Screensaver.world is an entirely open marketplace and **does not take any fees**. ## Screensaver DAO Governance A governance token will be distributed to users based on their activity in the marketplace.
